   i don’t know how much this is in US dollars but my mum wants to buy this car for 14,500 $ (Australian money), we rarely go offroad driving but i will sometimes go to the beach, should i get this car (2007 used)?

   I own a 2011 Suzuki SX4. The problem with taking the vehicle off road is the ground clearance. Even with the best driving, there will be times when you encounter unknowns in mud (such as deep ruts). The SX4 can get high centered and then you have to try to back out. I bought mine with the CVT. You will find that sometimes the CVT will not rev above 3k RPM when stuck in mud. I will be getting the Rocky Road lift kit for the car and some skid plates before the next venture.

   i love this car coz i own 1…..the only thing that is missing is hydrauilic suspension so u can increae the ground clearance if needed… like a high way mode & off road mode…plus a rear lock diffrentials…now you can call ur sx4… tiny devil….does any compny costum fit this…NOW ISNT THAT A WOW

   Anyone interested in the SX4 for SoftRoading, trust me the SX4 is capable of WAY more than what he shows in this video. Google “Rocky Road Outfitters” and check out all the off road gear they make for the SX4 including a Lift Kit, Skid Plate, Shock Relocation Kit, and Rock Rails. With the extra lift the SX4 can fit some serious all terrain tires which makes the thing practically unstoppable! It doesn’t affect the cars use as a daily driver either!

    i had a 2009 sx4 they only thing i liked was the awd and i also kept haveing problems with the eletrical in it with in the 1st year and less than 19000 miles and it was to slow so i traded it in for a 2005 ford explorer and i love it

    One of the most difficult Jeep trails in CO? Yeeaaaah, no. Those trails have rocks the size of the SX4 on them.

    Hey Mr. Mica, what is the 0-60 time on this car? Do you think it can merge well on the freeway? Its hard to choose now because the 2012 Impreza is looking to be the cheapest AWD car in north america.  Subaru>Suzuki

    I have seen these on the road and like their looks. I would like a small car with 4 wheel drive. They sit higher than normal. It would fit in my garage real nice and be fun to drive. Yeah!

    i have mitsubishi outlander 2010 and i took it to an off road course and it blitzed it and also roman mica the locking diffs is a fad when it says lock it mean lock the center diff which means not to predict where to put power it just is open diffs my outlander has the same thing as the suzuki sx4 and it took a while to make it over the uneven terrain thanks to an limited slip diff but anyways when the 4wd cars say lock most of the time its not a locking diff

    that actually would be a great idea to test various AWD systems on this trail. For example 4matic, Buick CXL, Chrysler 300C, BMW, Quattro, Volvo.
    WRX and Evo would be quite predictable.

    I love my sx4 so much that i dont even take my family car for long trips.We simply pack the sx4 as much as we can and hit the road with my wife and 2 teens.Wondering why i bought a 40k 7 seated truck instead of second sx4.

    Having driven various Suzuki Hatchbacks(WagonR, SX4, Splash) with only 2WD on real hard core Forrest roads in India, I can say he is not even pushing the car as hard as it can handle.

    Our WagonR is extensively used for Wild Life Photography, even today. Every week it hits the trails after a 2-3 hour highway drive. This thing has completed over 100,000 kms without any damage to the chassis or a breakdown(touchwood). Just that you have to be a bit careful on steep hills and the ground clearance.

    Rocky Road dot com has an excellent front skid plate and lift kit for the SX-4 – they also have side rock rails! With the lift kit you can go to real truck tires. Imagine that?

    Impressive none the less if you think about it. Beside worrying about the clearance, the car seemed to have no real problems. And as mentioned, the tires were stock all-seasons. Might not be a Jeep, but should be more than enough for the conditions that 95% will ever use it for.

    My brother and i took his 2001 mustang up much worse than that. This is in truth one of the easiest trails in Colorado. I’m not dissing the sx4 either, but in reality it is designed for that.
